Hola!
I hope your trip to New Mexico
went well! What did you do there? And it sounds like your garden is
really blossoming! The lady we live with has a garden and lets us eat
out of it. Swish chard, kale, lettuce....it's great. We like making
green smoothies in the morning.
This last week my companion Hermana Christensen was sick :( and
slept two whole days! I was still able to go out and teach but it was
hard to find people to go with me because I also had to find someone to
stay with Hna Christensen. But it was a really neat experience because I
realized I can understand more Spanish than I thought! The two girls
who went with me to the appointments don't speak Spanish, so I
interpretted for them (or tried to!).
We still don't have any baptismal dates but we are close. We have
two investigators praying about a baptismal date and hopefully two
others later today... And the golden family, the Garcias, we had been
working with dropped us! They started seeing a psycologist and the
'Padre' of the catholic church so didn't have time for us :( But, things
are looking up and I know we will see some baptisms soon.
This past week I read Elder Hallstrom's talk 'Converted to the
Gospel' and I loved it because that is the goal of missionaries. We want
our investigators to be converted to the gospel and not us or the
church. If you haven't read this talk, i highly recommend it! I know
that the general conference talks are truly inspired messages from God
and we should study them to learn how we can become a little better. I
know that God loves us each individually and He looks out for us.
love,
Hermana Brown
